Drawing up of the pond design

The drawing up of the pond design includes a set of several activities, starting with the selection of the right location, geological research, arranging all the necessary documents, obtaining permits, ending with the excavation of the pond and greening of the territory.

Before constructing the pond, it is necessary to make sure that the water reservoir can be constructed in the selected area – it can be found out by looking at the spatial plan of each local government.

The pond is a hydrotechnical structure, therefore the regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers (CM) No. 500 “General building regulations”, which determine the classification of buildings, grouping them according to the degree of construction complexity and the potential impact on human life, health and the environment, etc., shall be complied with.

In the initial stage of the pond design implementation, the Regulation No. 550 of the Cabinet of Ministers “Construction Regulations for Hydrotechnical and amelioration structures”, which determines the procedure for the construction process of hydrotechnical structures, the institutions involved and the responsible specialists in the construction of a pond.

The construction process of the pond can be performed at the moment when the building permit issued by the building authority of the local government has been received, otherwise the local government may impose a fine on the landowner.

Upon completion of the building design, the pond is put into operation to the building authority.
